Fans of Marvel Rivals got to dive into the action with new characters Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman over the weekend, but some are struggling to take Reed Richards as seriously as other heroes. Launched with Season 1 on January 10, Mister Fantastic, with his elastic abilities, stepped onto the battlefield as one of the game's first post-launch additions. Classified as a Duelist, he can engage one or multiple foes with his long-reaching attacks, and his ability to expand his body lets him take on a more defensive, tank-like role. While players are still figuring out the best strategies to use him against the diverse roster, the focus has largely been on his humorous side.

Mister Fantastic's ability to contort his body into odd shapes lends itself to plenty of meme material. Comparisons to One Piece's Monkey D. Luffy, especially due to Reed's Elastic Strength ability, have become popular, leading to the modding community creating a One Piece-themed custom skin, despite NetEase's recent crackdown on modding. The humorous potential of turning into a rubber bodybuilder has been tapped into by fans, including X/Twitter user @BOOMERANG_117, who reimagined Reed without his new beard.
While his Reflexive Rubber ability, which turns an enemy's damage back on them, is useful, it also looks incredibly silly in action. Watching Mister Fantastic grow to the size of a refrigerator for this move has sparked numerous jokes and memes.

While it remains to be seen whether Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman will become long-term favorites among Marvel Rivals players, their debut has certainly been memorable.
