Ready to delve into the world of Artian weapons in *Monster Hunter: World*? These unique weapons, new to the game, let you craft custom gear with virtually any stat and elemental combination you desire. It's a late-game pursuit, so let's break down everything you need to know.
First, you'll need to unlock this crafting feature. This requires completing the main story, reaching High Rank, and then defeating your first Tempered monster. We won't spoil which monster it is—you'll know when you see it; the NPCs will make it clear. After defeating this formidable foe, Gemma will contact you to discuss Artian weapons, initiating the crafting tutorial.
Each weapon type uses three components. You need at least one of each to craft a weapon, but the process is more nuanced than that. Components have rarity, element type, and an Artian bonus. Only components of the same rarity can be combined. The weapon's elemental effect is determined by the most prevalent element among your components. Two water and one lightning component will yield a water weapon; three water components create a stronger water infusion. Three different elements result in no elemental infusion.
The Artian bonus provides either an attack boost or an affinity boost (critical hit chance). The choice is yours, depending on your preferred playstyle.
How to Obtain Artian Materials in Monster Hunter: World
Acquiring Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. Usually, one or two roam each area after defeating your first Tempered monster. In-game notifications will alert you to their presence, and they're easily identifiable on the map by their blue outlines.
Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster rewards you with several Artian parts, found among your post-mission decorations. The rarity of these parts increases with your Hunter Rank. While there's no direct correlation between hunted monster and Artian drop type, focus on monsters you enjoy fighting or need parts from for other gear.
