Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering a fresh chance for players to experience the thrill of the hunt! This expanded beta includes new features and content, ensuring a more complete preview of the upcoming release. Here's how to join the action.
New Monster, New Challenges
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February, providing another opportunity to dive into the game before its official launch on February 28th. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto made the announcement via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This time around, players can tackle the Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series, adding a new layer of challenge.
Character data from the first beta carries over and can be transferred to the full game, although progress won't be saved. As a thank you for participating, beta testers receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy weapon charm, and a special bonus item pack to aid early-game progression.
"We understand many missed the first beta or wanted a second chance," Tsujimoto explained. "While the team is diligently finalizing the full game, this second beta won't include the latest fixes, still under development." A previous community update video showcased planned improvements.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
