Capcom recently held the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, offering an in-depth look at the exciting updates and content coming to its latest installment in the beloved Monster Hunter franchise. Alongside details on Title Update 1, players also received news about new cosmetic DLC, surprise additions, and a glimpse into the roadmap ahead.
Title Update 1 is scheduled to launch on April 4, 2025, as a free update for all owners of *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Coinciding with this release, several free and paid DLC items will also become available. The update introduces a brand-new hub area, fresh armor sets, cosmetic upgrades, and even more formidable monsters to hunt. With so much in store, the world of *Monster Hunter Wilds* is expanding in meaningful ways.
Now that we have a clearer picture of the upcoming patch—including its release date, features, and additional content—we can’t help but wonder which part excites you the most. Let us know your thoughts below!
A New Hub For Hunters
The showcase kicked off with an introduction to the Grand Hub, a new endgame location designed to enhance social interaction among hunters. This vibrant space allows players to gather, feast together, engage in arm wrestling matches, or enjoy musical performances from the Diva at night. Additionally, a fun-filled Barrel Bowling mini-game has been added, where players can earn vouchers through various activities and unlock exclusive rewards.
To access the Grand Hub, players must reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak with Tetsuzan in Suja, located in the Peaks of Accord region.
Mizutsune Arrives
One of the major highlights of Title Update 1 is the arrival of Mizutsune, a graceful yet deadly aquatic monster known for its swift tail attacks and powerful water jets. Players who have reached Hunter Rank 21 or higher can take on Mizutsune by speaking to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest to begin the quest. Successfully defeating it will yield materials for crafting new gear, making this addition a must-experience for seasoned hunters.
Additional Hunts on the Way
A new Event Quest featuring Arch-tempered Rey Dau is set to challenge elite hunters. As a step above Tempered difficulty, Arch-tempered monsters offer a serious test of skill. To participate, players must be at least Hunter Rank 50. Defeating this beast not only provides bragging rights but also unlocks new armor sets for those daring enough to face it head-on.
Zoh Shia also returns as a re-fightable boss post-HR 50. Previously only encountered once during the main story, hunters can now track Zoh Shia repeatedly through new quests and craft powerful armor from its materials.
Arena Quests
For speedrunners and competitive players, Arena Quests introduce timed challenges where hunters race to complete objectives faster than others. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, rewarding participants with pendants for achievements and participation alike. These quests can be accessed via the counter inside the new Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, one of the game’s most dedicated companions, is finally getting customizable appearance options. A new menu in camp allows players to change Alma’s attire, including a free outfit provided at launch. Completing a specific side mission also unlocks the ability to switch out Alma’s glasses, adding a personal touch to your journey.
More DLC is on the Way
In addition to gameplay updates, a variety of both free and paid DLC will arrive alongside Title Update 1. Some classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter titles will be made freely available, while Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 offers stylish outfits, stickers, and accessories either through purchase or included with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
Exciting Event Quests and Seasonal Events are also in the pipeline. During these limited-time periods, the Grand Hub receives visual transformations, new meals become available, and exclusive equipment, gestures, and decorations can be obtained.
The first Seasonal Event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, launches on April 23, bringing pink cherry blossoms and festive decorations to the game world. Capcom has also confirmed that many previously available events and Event Quests will return in the future, giving players multiple chances to collect seasonal rewards.
The Roadmap Ahead
Here’s a breakdown of how Title Update 1 and related content will roll out over the coming months:
- Title Update 1 – April 3 (NA) / April 4 (Global)
- Festival of Accord: Blossomdance – April 22
- Arch-tempered Rey Dau Quest – April 29

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
Closing out the showcase was a sneak peek at Title Update 2, slated to arrive this summer. While no official release date has been announced, Capcom teased the possible return of Lagiacrus—an iconic underwater predator—hinting at intense surface-level battles and new gameplay mechanics tied to aquatic combat.
