Morikomori Life has officially launched on Android and iOS, currently available exclusively in Japan. This version is published by Realfun Studio. Previously, the game was released in China by Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, but the Chinese version was discontinued approximately one year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back
One of the game's standout features is its visual style. The developers have beautifully captured a cozy atmosphere through anime-inspired artwork, particularly reminiscent of Studio Ghibli's aesthetic. This isn't the generic AI-generated art you might see lately—these scenes genuinely look like stills taken from an actual Ghibli animated film.
As for the story, you step into the shoes of Kaon, a young Japanese girl. She receives an intriguing letter from her grandmother, inviting her to visit the countryside village. So Kaon returns to Komori, the place where she spent her childhood.
From there, you begin rediscovering the simple joys of a peaceful life. Thanks to its 3D toon-shaded graphics, Komori’s Japanese landscapes feel warm and authentic, much like the real rural countryside.
If you think that sounds like an exaggeration, just take a look at these Morikomori Life trailers and see for yourself!
Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living
The game focuses on everyday life activities. You can farm, cook, fish, hunt, and even build your own home. Gather resources by chopping wood, mining for ore, and discovering rare materials during your explorations.
As you collect these resources, you unlock new options for upgrading your house and enhancing your lifestyle. You can customize Kaon’s appearance to your liking and make new friends around the village. Prepare meals with foraged ingredients and assist villagers with various tasks.
Morikomori Life allows you to personalize your character to reflect your individual style. An open-world element gives you the freedom to wander and stumble upon charming little surprises throughout the village.
The game is currently available on Android in Japan. If you're in the region, you can download it from the Google Play Store. There’s no official confirmation yet regarding a global release.
