Netmarble's popular fighting game, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is closing its doors this year. The official announcement on Netmarble's forums confirms the shutdown date: October 30th, 2024. The in-game store has already been closed since June 26th, 2024.
The Reason Behind the Closure
King of Fighters ALLSTAR enjoyed a successful six-year run, featuring numerous crossovers and captivating animations that garnered positive player feedback and millions of downloads across Google Play and the App Store. Despite its popularity and engaging PvP battles, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt as a contributing factor to the shutdown. However, this likely isn't the sole reason, suggesting other, undisclosed challenges. Recent optimization issues and game crashes may have also played a role.
A Final Chance to Play
While the game's lifespan is nearing its end, players still have approximately four months to experience the legendary King of Fighters matchups and engaging gameplay. Download the game from the Google Play Store before the servers shut down in October.
