Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO by Northern Forge Studios, is hosting a unique in-game event, Terra's Legacy, to raise awareness about environmental pollution. From September 9th to 19th, players will battle pollution-themed enemies and contribute to real-world environmental cleanup.
Combating Pollution, In-Game and Out
Terra's Legacy merges virtual gameplay with real-world environmental action. Players locate and report polluted or littered areas within Orna, which are then transformed into in-game "Gloomsites" by Northern Forge Studios. These Gloomsites represent the impact of pollution on our planet.
Players confront the Murk, a pollution-representing enemy, at these Gloomsites. Defeating the Murk contributes to raising awareness and allows players to plant trees and cultivate Gaia apples in the corresponding real-world locations. These apples can customize characters and enhance magical abilities, with the added benefit of being harvestable by other players. Increased player participation translates to a cleaner virtual and real world.
Northern Forge is participating in the Green Game Jam 2024, an annual event promoting environmental awareness through game development. Download Orna from the Google Play Store and join this environmental initiative.
