Path of Exile 2's bustling trade channels frequently feature high demand for White Stellar Amulets, fetching 10 to 15 Exalted Orbs each. This significant value often puzzles players unfamiliar with their unique potential. The high price reflects either the amulet's direct use in builds or its conversion into a more valuable item. Let's examine the reasons behind this.
Why are White Stellar Amulets So Valuable in Path of Exile 2?
Normal-rarity Stellar Amulets, possessing only the inherent "+# to All Attributes" modifier, serve as the key ingredient in crafting the highly sought-after Astramentis Stellar Amulet. This transformation is achieved using an Orb of Chance.
Astramentis' exceptional power stems from its massive attribute boost (+80-120 to All Attributes). This synergizes perfectly with the Hand of Wisdom and Action Furtive Wraps, another top-tier Unique item, enhancing attack speed and lightning damage based on Intelligence and Dexterity.
Crucially, only White Stellar Amulets can yield Astramentis. Blue (Magic) or Yellow (Rare) amulets are unsuitable. This scarcity drives the high value of Normal Stellar Amulets compared to their enhanced counterparts.
Sell or Gamble: The White Stellar Amulet Dilemma
The odds of successfully obtaining Astramentis via Orb of Chance are extremely low, making individual attempts risky. Even using 100 amulets may not guarantee success. While luck can play a role, it's a significant gamble.
The decision to sell or gamble rests entirely with the player. Selling a White Stellar Amulet typically earns 10-30 Exalted Orbs, depending on market fluctuations. Alternatively, players can risk it all for the potential reward of Astramentis. It's a high-stakes gamble requiring careful consideration.
Using Orbs of Chance for Astramentis in PoE 2
To attempt this, place the Normal Stellar Amulet in your inventory, right-click the Orb of Chance, and left-click the amulet to initiate the process. Possible outcomes include:
- Amulet destruction.
- Upgrade to a unique sharing the same base. Two possibilities exist:
- Astramentis
- Fixation of Yix (a less desirable outcome)
The more common Fixation of Yix is the more likely result if the gamble is successful, making Astramentis a rare prize indeed. Remember, failure results in amulet destruction.
