Elden Ring Nightreign's First Network Test: A PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Exclusive
Registration for Elden Ring Nightreign's initial network test opens January 10th, 2025, offering a limited-time opportunity for players to experience this cooperative Soulsborne title. However, this beta will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Announced at The Game Awards 2024, Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for a 2025 release and features three-player cooperative gameplay within the Lands Between. The upcoming network test, a standard procedure for multiplayer titles, will allow a select group of players to participate. The number of available slots remains undisclosed.
How to Participate:
- Visit the official Elden Ring Nightreign network test website starting January 10th.
- Register, specifying your preferred platform (PS5 or Xbox Series X/S).
- Await a confirmation email (arriving no later than February 2025).
- Join the network test in February 2025.
Platform Limitations:
The exclusion of PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC from this beta is noteworthy, limiting participation to less than half of the game's target platforms. Cross-platform play is not supported, meaning players will only be matched with others on the same console. Progress made during the test is not expected to carry over to the final game. Additional betas may be planned, though this hasn't been confirmed.
Gameplay Restrictions:
Besides the lack of cross-platform functionality, Elden Ring Nightreign's cooperative mode is restricted to solo or three-player parties; two-player parties are not supported. Whether the network test will include further gameplay limitations remains to be seen. Specific test dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
