A PlayStation studio, newly formed from former Bungie employees, is reportedly developing a MOBA titled "Gummy Bears." Initially conceived at Bungie, the project has undergone a developer shift, with a team of approximately 40 individuals now spearheading its creation.
This unique MOBA, rumored to be in development since at least 2022, deviates significantly from Bungie's previous work. Instead of traditional health bars, Gummy Bears will utilize a percentage-based damage system akin to the Super Smash Bros. franchise, resulting in knockback mechanics and the possibility of being knocked off the map.
The game is expected to feature three character classes (Attack, Defense, and Support), multiple game modes, and a distinct visual style described as cozy, vibrant, and lo-fi. This stylistic choice aims to attract a younger audience than Bungie's previous titles. While a release date remains unconfirmed, the project is likely several years from launch. The shift in developers coincides with PlayStation's recent establishment of a new Los Angeles studio, suggesting a potential connection.
