Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: A Festive Extravaganza!
Get ready to celebrate the start of 2025 in Pokémon GO! The annual New Year's event returns, running from December 30th, 2024, to January 1st, 2025. This year's festivities promise themed bonuses, exciting Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, this New Year's event is the perfect follow-up.
This year's event offers a fantastic opportunity to rack up experience points. Catch Pokémon with Excellent Throws to earn a whopping 2,025 XP each! Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere with New Year's decorations and dazzling fireworks illuminating the skies.
Expect increased appearances of special, festively-dressed Pokémon. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat – and don't forget the possibility of encountering their Shiny variations!
Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. All three boast increased Shiny rates during the event.
Complete Field Research and Timed Research tasks for additional encounters and rewards. A paid Timed Research ($2) offers exclusive rewards including three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.
