The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are making their Pokémon Go debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event. Both feature new Adventure Effects that assist with catching Pokémon outside of battle. Don't forget to use the Tour Pass to optimize your rewards.
Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock unleashes electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, stopping wild Pokémon from moving and simplifying captures. White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows the target ring during encounters, aiding in landing Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, for a maximum total of 24 hours.
During the event, challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to earn Fusion Energy. After fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn will replace Glaciate. These moves revert to Glaciate when the Pokémon are separated. Note that Kyurem cannot currently learn these moves via Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
You can also choose between two event badges – Black Version (Reshiram) or White Version (Zekrom). In the Black Version, Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. The White Version offers Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.

To enhance your progress, activate the Tour Pass to unlock rewards and amplify your Adventure Effects. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, finishing raids, and hatching Eggs, or accelerate your advancement with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone increases your Catch XP and extends the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
