Pokémon TCG Pocket launches its hotly-anticipated trading feature and Space-Time Smackdown

Pokémon TCG Pocket’s highly anticipated trading feature has finally arrived! Launching alongside the exciting new Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this update brings a fresh wave of content for players.

Trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket works much like real-life trading, allowing you to exchange cards with friends. While some restrictions apply—only certain rarities (1-4 and 1-star) are tradeable, and resources like trade hourglasses and tokens are required—this is a significant addition to the game.

The Space-Time Smackdown expansion itself is packed with exciting additions. Iconic Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia make their debut, alongside the beloved Sinnoh region starters: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. Many more cards and features await discovery!

The reception to the new trading feature, however, has been somewhat mixed. While the implementation is solid, the numerous caveats—resource requirements and trading restrictions—have proven to be a point of contention for many players. Some argue that a more unrestricted trading system, or no trading at all, might have been a better approach. Developers have indicated they are monitoring player feedback and may implement changes in the future.
