Project Mugen now has an official name and teaser trailer as NetEase shows off Ananta

NetEase Games and Naked Rain's Project Mugen is officially titled Ananta, a new urban, open-world RPG. A recently released PV and teaser trailer showcase gameplay and the game's world, characters, and enemies.

The preview video reveals a sprawling cityscape, Nova City, a diverse cast, and the looming threat of chaotic forces. While comparisons to MiHoYo's titles like Zenless Zone Zero are inevitable, Ananta distinguishes itself, particularly in its movement mechanics. The game promises a blend of charming characters and dynamic combat typical of modern 3D RPGs.

The PV highlights impressive movement capabilities. Whether this translates to seamless traversal across Nova City's streets and rooftops remains to be seen. While similarities to MiHoYo's Genshin Impact exist, Ananta's success hinges on its ability to establish a unique identity and potentially challenge the leading 3D gacha RPGs.
