Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's global server is shutting down. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the end of service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, remains unaffected and is preparing for its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025.
Atelier Resleriana EOS Date:
Ironically, the global server closure coincides with the Japanese server's 1.5th anniversary celebration—March 28th, 2025. Global players will conclude their experience at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players progress to Chapter 22 (Part 2).
In-game purchases are disabled, but existing Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises new content and events leading up to the closure, despite the recent first anniversary celebration on January 25th.
Reasons for Shutdown:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the reason for the global server closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints about the gacha system surfacing just months after launch. Issues with gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep contributed to the decision to end service.
The global version remains available on the Google Play Store for a final farewell. For those seeking a new mobile gaming experience, consider checking out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year 2025 event.
