Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced
The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.
Two Months Remain
With the shutdown date approaching, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.
Launched in June 2020, the global version's four-year run is drawing to a close. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha system, the game received mixed player feedback.
Unlike its successful Japanese counterpart, the global version struggled to gain widespread traction. The lack of significant content updates, such as the Solistia region and 6-star units (available in Japan for almost a year), contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately influenced the decision to shut down the global server.
Community Reactions
Square Enix has closed several mobile titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games, adding to the disappointment surrounding the Romancing SaGa Re:universe global server closure.
Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a classic turn-based RPG based on the SaGa series, still offers players two months to enjoy its gameplay. Interested players can download the game from the Google Play Store.
