The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly superior visuals compared to the PS5 version but also offers a more stable performance, sparking discussions within the community about the necessity for an update on Sony's console.
Currently, the PS5 version suffers from blurry visuals when set to performance mode, leaving base console owners with no choice but to await patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged that enhancements are feasible within the technical constraints of the platform.
"Following the release of the PC version's promotional material, we've been inundated with requests for a similar update for the PS5. We're keen to make this happen within the bounds of what's achievable with the PS5's performance capabilities," Hamaguchi stated.
Fans are eagerly anticipating that Square Enix will respond to their requests and enhance the console's visuals. Despite the team's focus on developing the sequel, Hamaguchi has asked fans for patience, promising more information in due time. He reflected on 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment of the trilogy, which garnered global attention and numerous awards.
Looking ahead, the third installment of Final Fantasy VII is set to present unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fan base. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI, another title that captured his attention this year. He voiced support for the Rockstar Games team, acknowledging the immense pressure they face following the phenomenal success of GTA V.
