In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the game's expansive weapon variety caters to a wide range of playstyles. Among these, you'll find unique (named) variants that boast special modifications or enhanced power, and the Cavalier sniper rifle is a standout example. This special weapon, equipped with a red-dot sight instead of a traditional magnification scope, excels in short to medium-range engagements. Here’s how you can secure this coveted rifle for yourself.
How to Get the Unique Cavalier Rifle in Stalker 2
The Cavalier Sniper Rifle awaits players near the Military Unit within the Duga base. It's located inside a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously explored the Duga base to access the Journalist stash, navigating to the second entrance should be straightforward.
Getting Inside the Warehouse Near the Military Unit of Duga Base
Upon entering the Duga base, make your way to the Military Unit building, which is marked on your map. You won't need to enter the building itself; instead, navigate around it to reach the greenhouse at the back. Be on high alert, as two Pseudogiants patrol this area and will attack on sight. Approach the greenhouse cautiously to avoid a confrontation with these formidable mutants.
Once inside the greenhouse, you'll find yourself in the warehouse. Be prepared for an immediate threat: multiple swarms of rats will spawn and begin to drain your health. To escape the rats, head to the elevated green platforms at the back of the warehouse. From a safe vantage point, throw a grenade to eliminate the swarm effectively.
Break the Wooden Boards & Grab the Cavalier Rifle
With the rat swarms dealt with, direct your attention to the ceiling above the entryway connecting to the greenhouse. You'll notice wooden boards painted yellow. Use your weapon to shoot these boards, causing the Cavalier sniper rifle to drop from above.
After securing the weapon, make a safe exit from the Duga base. To further enhance the Cavalier, visit Screw, the technician at Rostok base. The rifle already boasts maximum damage and great accuracy, which can be further improved with upgrades and mods. For players who prefer a scope-free sniper experience, the Cavalier, with its red-dot sight, is an excellent choice for close to medium-range combat.
