Speculation about Starfield coming to PlayStation 5 intensified over the weekend when fans noticed a PlayStation logo on Bethesda's official Creations website. The logo was linked to a work-in-progress ship decals Creation for Starfield, and although it was quickly removed, it has fueled rumors that Bethesda's sci-fi game, currently exclusive to PC and Xbox, might soon be available on PS5.
They have added the Playstation logo to a creation. (I think they are beta testers, the logo only appears on one creation)

This development has led to speculation about whether Bethesda is planning a major content update or a new expansion to coincide with Starfield's potential PS5 release. The game has seen little in the way of updates recently, especially following the underwhelming reception to the Shattered Space expansion. With Microsoft expected to host another summer showcase, fans are hopeful that more details about Starfield will be revealed then.
Bethesda has hinted at "exciting things" planned for Starfield this year, amidst growing frustration from players over the lack of communication and updates. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Starfield, promising at least one more story expansion after Shattered Space. In an interview with the YouTube channel MrMattyPlays, Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard mentioned the studio's goal to release an annual story expansion for "hopefully a very long time."

IGN's review of Starfield awarded it a 7/10, noting that despite challenges, "the allure of its expansive roleplaying quests and respectable combat make its gravitational pull difficult to resist."
In January, Microsoft's gaming head, Phil Spencer, did not rule out the possibility of Starfield being released on PS5. Reports from March 2024 indicated that both Starfield and MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were under consideration for PS5. While Indiana Jones was later confirmed for a PS5 release in spring 2025, following its debut on PC and Xbox Series X and S, Starfield remains unconfirmed for PS5, though Spencer's comments suggest it's a possibility.
Several Xbox titles are already available on PS5, including Sea of Thieves by Rare, Hi-Fi Rush by Tango Gameworks, and Grounded and Pentiment by Obsidian. Microsoft also publishes Minecraft on PlayStation consoles and plans to release Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 on PS5 later this year. Forza Horizon 5 by Playground Games is also slated for a PS5 release. There are even rumors that Microsoft might finally bring Halo to PlayStation, ending its long-standing Xbox exclusivity.

Spencer has explained that Xbox's multiplatform strategy is partly driven by the need to increase revenue for Microsoft's gaming division, especially following the $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
“We run a business,” Spencer stated in August of the previous year. “It’s definitely true inside of Microsoft the bar is high for us in terms of the delivery we have to give back to the company. Because we get a level of support from the company that’s just amazing and what we’re able to go do.
“So I look at this, how can we make our games as strong as possible? Our platform continues to grow, on console, on PC, and on cloud. It’s just going to be a strategy that works for us.”
Bethesda Game Studios, with its 450 staff members, is currently juggling multiple projects, including Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 76, mobile development, and external partnerships.
