Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Stellar Blade is spreading holiday cheer with a festive update arriving December 17th! This update brings Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, a new mini-game, and more. Let's dive into the details.
New Holiday Outfits and Customization
Get into the festive spirit with brand-new Christmas-themed outfits for Eve and other characters! The update includes:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I’m No Santa (Adam)
Eve's holiday look can be further customized with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Xion Gets a Festive Makeover and a Mini-Game
Xion, the game's human settlement, transforms into a winter wonderland with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive the holiday treatment, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away"). A new mini-game adds to the fun, although details on gameplay and rewards remain under wraps – it seems to involve a holiday-themed drone.
Control Your Seasonal Content
A new option lets players manage seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. In the game's Settings under Gameplay, you can choose from:
- Auto: Automatically enables/disables seasonal content based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
- Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a restart to the latest save.
Mixed Reception
While many fans are excited about the update, some have expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience seasonal content is also a point of contention.
