Finnish game developer Supercell has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they've revealed Project R.I.S.E., a revival of sorts. However, this isn't a simple relaunch.
The Full Story:
Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. Similar to the fate of Clash Mini, it's been shelved. But Supercell is offering a fresh take with Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite set within the familiar Clash universe.
Supercell's announcement video features game lead Julien Le Cadre confirming the closure of Clash Heroes, but highlighting Project R.I.S.E. as a multiplayer-focused action RPG.
For more details, watch the video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares some DNA with Clash Heroes, but it's a completely new development. It's a social action RPG roguelite where players team up in groups of three to conquer The Tower. Each playthrough explores a different floor, with the ultimate goal of reaching the highest level. Unlike its predecessor, the emphasis is on cooperative gameplay with diverse characters, rather than solo PvE dungeon crawling.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Interested players can register on the official website for a chance to participate.
