Nintendo has announced a historic launch for the Switch 2, confirming it as the company's fastest-selling hardware ever, with global sales exceeding 3.5 million units in just four days.
In a post on Twitter/X, Nintendo stated, "#NintendoSwitch2 has sold over 3.5 million units worldwide in its first four days, becoming the fastest-selling Nintendo hardware ever globally."

This remarkable achievement was likely aided by strong initial stock availability—a notable contrast to past hardware launches from Nintendo and others. It also aligns with statements from Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser, who previously assured sufficient U.S. supply to meet the robust demand.
For context, the original Nintendo Switch sold 2.74 million units in its first month.
The news follows a recent report from The Game Business that the Switch 2 has already become the fastest-selling Nintendo console in UK history, overtaking the Nintendo 3DS.
