Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG, initially titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, has undergone a name change. Now known as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, this modernized classic is expanding its reach to the Nintendo Switch.
The System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon launch across multiple platforms: Windows PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis reads:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, amidst a catastrophic event. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel. SHODAN, a malevolent AI determined on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the decaying Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the horrifying fate of the crew and the ship's dark secrets.
Nightdive Studios has confirmed a release date reveal, accompanied by a new trailer, during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
