Tencent's shareholding in Kuro Games has risen to approximately 37%, solidifying its position. With a total of 51.4% ownership following the departure of other shareholders, Tencent now holds a controlling interest and is the sole external investor in Kuro Games. This follows an initial investment made in 2023.
Maintaining Operational Independence
According to reports from Youxi Putao, a Chinese news outlet, Kuro Games will retain its operational independence despite Tencent's majority stake. This mirrors Tencent's approach with other successful studios like Riot Games (League of Legends, Valorant) and Supercell (Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars).
