Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced
Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. The game, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.
The closed beta will run from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions. Registration will be available through the game's official website. This gives fans a chance to play before the full release later in 2025.
Kingsroad features class-based progression with "fully manual" controls, allowing players to command knights, assassins, and other characters. The game boasts an original storyline centered around a new character, the heir to House Tyre, in the North. Iconic characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon will also appear.
The trailer showcased the game's dynamic combat system, described as "raw, aggressive, and destructive." Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, aims to deliver a compelling mobile experience that complements the rich lore of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. The game's characters draw inspiration from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men.
While fans eagerly await the next A Song of Ice and Fire novel, The Winds of Winter, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad offers a substantial interim experience for fans of the franchise. The game's full launch is expected later this year.
