Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 25th Anniversary: Something's Coming!
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, Tony Hawk himself has confirmed that Activision and he are working on something special for fans.
A Surprise for Fans
In a recent YouTube appearance on Mythical Kitchen, the skateboarding legend revealed the exciting news: "I've been talking to Activision again, which is insanely exciting. We're working on something—This is the first time I've said that publicly," he shared. While specifics remain under wraps, Hawk assures fans this project will be something truly appreciated.
A Legacy of Success and Setbacks
The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater launched on September 29, 1999, catapulting the franchise to immense success. While plans for remastered versions of Pro Skater 3 and 4 were previously announced (following the successful release of the THPS 1+2 remaster in 2020), the project was ultimately halted due to the closure of Vicarious Visions.
Anniversary Celebrations and Speculation
The official Tony Hawk's Pro Skater social media channels have already begun celebrating the anniversary with new artwork and a giveaway of the THPS 1+2 Collector's Edition. This, coupled with Hawk's recent announcement, has ignited speculation about a potential new game announcement, possibly during a rumored Sony State of Play event. Whether this is a new entry in the series or a revival of the cancelled remaster project remains to be seen.
The anticipation is high. Stay tuned for updates!
