Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant transformation of the game. This season introduces the Cloud Oasis, a new feature that adds economic gameplay mechanics to the mix. Players will engage in resource trading, worker management, and production line oversight to build their aerial empire. Additionally, the Deep Space area has undergone a complete overhaul, featuring five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies.
Thea, a returning character, brings a new twist with her Blasphemer trait. This trait swaps her divine abilities for a curse called Desecration, which initially appears weak but grows powerful, enhancing Erosion damage as her blessing power diminishes. Players can optimize this trait for area-of-effect explosions or health-scaling effects, ideal for those who enjoy damage-over-time strategies and complex build synergies.
Season 8 also enhances endgame content with the introduction of the Probes system in Deep Space. This system allows players to adjust the level of risk and reward, with the potential to obtain better loot, including Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
A new Blending System for belt crafting is another highlight, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, offering more depth to character builds. A formidable new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
To celebrate the launch, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Participants can complete tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and compete for a chance to win from a prize pool valued at $250,000.
