Akatsuki Games has announced the End of Service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. It's hard to believe, but this game, which launched on Android, iOS, and PC (Steam) in February, is already facing its demise. Let's dive into the details and explore what's behind this unexpected shutdown.
When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?
Tribe Nine is set to officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this announcement, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released. This comes as a major disappointment, especially since the game had just started dropping significant hints about upcoming plot developments.
As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. This means any adjustments or new features previously mentioned in in-game notices are now off the table.
Additionally, two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will not be added.
Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed after the Revenio contract concludes.
Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes are no longer available through the app or web store. However, players can continue to use their existing Enigma Entities until Tribe Nine's official shutdown.
Why Did It Fail So Soon?
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG known for its unique style and worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges from the start.
The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Moreover, there was little incentive for players to spend money. Players could build a strong team with just one pull, and duplicates weren't necessary, which was beneficial for players but detrimental to the game's monetization strategy.
It seems that adopting a gacha model was a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it didn't pay off. Despite this, the game remains playable until November 27th, 2025. If you haven't tried it yet, you can check it out on the Google Play Store.
