Snapchat has introduced a new feature for 2024: Snap Recap. Unlike data-heavy year-in-review features from other platforms, Snap Recap offers a more casual, visually driven look back at your year on Snapchat.

What is Snap Recap?

Snap Recap compiles your Snapchat memories from 2024 into a short video montage. Instead of detailed statistics, it highlights a single Snap from each month, offering a curated glimpse into your year. The video seamlessly transitions into the Memories feature, allowing you to explore past Snaps from previous years.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Your Snap Recap is automatically generated. To view it:

1. Open Snapchat and access the Memories feature by swiping up from the main camera screen. (Avoid pressing the shutter button.)
2. Locate the highlighted "Your 2024 Snap Recap" video. It's usually prominently displayed.
3. Tap the video (avoiding the share icon) to start playback. The recap plays automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance through the Snaps.

You can save, edit, share, or add your Snap Recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, it might be due to a staggered rollout. Snapchat also states that several factors determine recap eligibility, including the number of saved Snaps. Consistent Snapchat usage and frequent Snaps increase your chances of receiving a recap. Unfortunately, if it doesn't appear after a waiting period, you can't request one.
