Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the hidden true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate scenario.
Normally, this battle involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei holds off Cao Cao's forces. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao himself. This is a challenging feat, requiring you to overcome Cao Cao's army largely solo, embodying the series' famed "1 vs. 1000" battles. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's will necessitate a mission restart.
To increase your chances of success:

Reduce Difficulty: Set the game to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this crucial, especially at lower player levels.

Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This provides a closer starting position to Cao Cao's forces, minimizing travel time.

Musou Mastery: Ensure your Musou Rage meter is full before engaging Cao Cao's main army. You'll need it to counter his Grand Tactics (defeating two officers and 250 soldiers). A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for efficient soldier elimination.
Once Cao Cao falls, a few additional missions remain before reaching the Shu true ending.
