Instead of relying on traditional color cues, the new decks utilize distinct shapes (squares, triangles, circles, and stars) to represent the colors. This allows players with colorblindness to easily differentiate cards.
The update, developed in collaboration with colorblind gamers, ensures consistent shape representation across all three games. Players can activate the Beyond Colors decks via in-game account settings under card theme options.
This initiative reflects Mattel163's commitment to inclusivity. With approximately 300 million colorblind individuals globally (Cleveland Clinic), this update significantly broadens the accessibility of these popular mobile titles. Mattel aims for 80% of its game portfolio to be colorblind-accessible by 2025.
