Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo delivers another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. Launching today, this roguelite action game features familiar faces from the Warriors series.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss offers isometric gameplay, reminiscent of Diablo and Hades, allowing players to assemble a squad of iconic characters and battle through hordes of enemies. The trailer highlighted characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, battling demonic forces in a visually stunning "hellish" landscape.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking unique summoning abilities. Battles utilize up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster boasting 100 warriors. Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster post-launch, beginning with characters from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further additions are teased, hinting at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors series.
Warriors: Abyss is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is scheduled for February 13, 2025. Players who purchase the game before March 14, 2025, will receive an in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set.
