LoL: Wild Rift Patch 6.1: Ascending Stars is set to launch on April 16th, promising a cosmic overhaul that will transform everything from the menus to the battlefield. This update takes players on an adventure through the Dual Nova galaxy, encompassing the Challenger’s Star and Adventure’s Star.
Three new champions are set to shake up the game with their unique abilities. Ryze, the Rune Mage, brings devastating Area of Effect (AoE) damage and can strategically reposition his team using Realm Warp. Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare, thrives in chaos, using his Paranoia ability to plunge foes into darkness. Lastly, Zilean, the Chronokeeper, manipulates time to slow enemies and even revive allies with Chronoshift.
Several champions are also receiving significant reworks. Garen’s Courage will now scale over time, enhancing his tankiness, while his Judgment ability will be more effective at shredding enemy armor. Ambessa is transitioning from the jungle to the Baron lane with tweaks to her damage and life steal. Additional adjustments are planned for Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista.
Beyond champion updates, a new Bandle-inspired Rift will invigorate non-Ranked modes, featuring Enchanted Gifts that appear through portals during the laning phase. Mages will benefit from updated items, including the new Bandle Fantasy item that adds extra burst damage, Hextech GLP800 that slows enemies with frost bombs, and Malignance that enhances ultimate abilities, making spellcasters even more formidable.
Ranked mode is also evolving with the start of a new season alongside the launch of the Challenger’s Star. This includes updates to the Ranked store and an easier way to earn seasonal rewards. Midway through the patch, the Adventure’s Star will unlock, introducing AAAARAM—a fresh take on ARAM with added augments and galactic visuals.
Finally, the Wild Pass will offer two stunning skins: Wondertown Twisted Fate and Battlecast Nasus, with Twisted Fate’s new look introducing an entirely new skinline.
