Wings of Heroes has launched in an exciting new direction. This update brings a comprehensive Player vs Environment (PvE) mode, offering a fresh way to experience the high-stakes WWII dogfighting game known for its skill and reflex-based action.
Dubbed Total Defence, the new mode places you and two AI wingmen in intense cooperative missions with a straightforward goal: defend your ground assets against relentless waves of enemy planes. Each wave increases in difficulty, introducing faster fighters, resilient bombers, and challenging boss battles. Victory is achieved by surviving all ten waves.
While PvP dogfights and Domination modes emphasize speed and accuracy, Total Defence requires strategic thinking. You must prioritize threats from various directions and coordinate attacks across multiple fronts. This mode challenges both your tactical planning and piloting skills, offering a different approach to each engagement.
The developers see this as more than just a new gameplay option. PvE paves the way for mission-driven content, story events, and cooperative play with friends. It establishes a foundation for richer, more social experiences while maintaining the core excitement of aerial combat.

In addition to PvE, the update introduces significant core system upgrades. The new Plane Mastery system rewards dedicated use of the game's aircraft. By mastering a plane, you can unlock a black-and-gold Master Livery—an exclusive visual marker of your expertise.
