World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways
World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, and this time it's even bigger. Running for seven consecutive weeks until February 24th, this event offers a non-stop Timewalking campaign marathon.
This extended event provides players with ample opportunities to earn a wealth of rewards. Expect to accumulate substantial Timewarped Badges, benefit from a significant experience boost, and acquire new items.
A Recap of Turbulent Timeways:
Previously introduced in September 2023, the Turbulent Timeways featured five weeks of Timewalking. Completing four Timewalking dungeons granted the Mastery of Timeways buff – a 20% experience increase. Players who achieved this buff each week earned the Master of the Turbulent Timeways achievement and the Sandy Shalewing pet.
This Time, It's Bigger and Better:
This expanded event surpasses its predecessor in scale and rewards. Each week features a different Timewalking campaign, progressing chronologically through expansions:

- January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
- January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
- January 21-27: Legion
- January 28-February 3: Classic
- February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
- February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
- February 18-24: Cataclysm
Rewards and Achievements:
Securing the Mastery of Timeways buff for at least five of the seven weeks unlocks the Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2 achievement, rewarding players with the charming Timely Buzzbee mount. Timewalking vendors offer permanent additions to their inventory, including Season of Discovery transmogs (at the Classic vendor), and a second chance to obtain the Sandy Shalewing pet. Furthermore, the Cache of Nerubian Treasures now grants Heroic gear during the event.
Looking Ahead:
The conclusion of the Turbulent Timeways event on February 24th hints at future World of Warcraft plans. Considering Blizzard's typical release schedule and the holiday season, February 25th is a strong contender for the launch of Patch 11.1, Undermined. With this event, the ongoing Plunderstorm event, and the upcoming War Within update, World of Warcraft is poised for an action-packed start to 2025.
