The wait is finally over as Wuthering Waves has released its highly anticipated version 2.0 update, bringing a wealth of content to explore. From a sprawling new region with diverse areas to fresh characters, bosses, echoes, and gameplay mechanics, there’s plenty to discover in this update. Plus, the JRPG is now available on the PS5 as well, letting you enjoy it on the big screen.
The spotlight is, of course, on Rinascita, a nation of city-states known as the Land of Echoes. Wuthering Waves now has a new playable area waiting to be explored. This is a land rich in culture, art, and bears a deep connection to Echoes, which are integrated into daily life. From Ragunna to the Nimbus Sanctum and Thessaleo Fells, each area offers a distinct atmosphere.
Two new characters, Carlotta and Roccia, join the roster with dynamic combat styles. Carlotta, a Glacio 5-Star Resonator, wields dual pistols and brings a gem-inspired aesthetic to her elegant combat. Her Resonance Ability is also connected to gems and deals a tonne of Glacio damage as crystallised energy is released.
Roccia, from the Fool’s Troupe, combines theatrical flair with battle prowess, summoning tornados to control the battlefield. She may be an improv comedian, but her moves are anything but funny. Her stage partner, Chest Mimic – Pero, is also always by her side, and together they wreak havoc on the field. Roccia’s Resonance Ability pulls all enemies together, creating numerous attacking opportunities.
For the first time, you can now customize characters with skins, including Jinhsi’s peach blossom outfit and Sanhua’s exorcistic adjuration. Boss encounters have also been expanded with new foes like the Dragon of Dirge and reimagined Nightmare Echoes, which add challenging mechanics to familiar battles.
Finally, the update introduces exciting gameplay features. You can now take to the skies with a flight mechanic, transform into Cuddle Wuddle for a leap, or cruise on gondolas in the main quest. And before you go on, be sure to check out these redeemable Wuthering Waves codes!
