Xbox Game Pass Ultimate expands its library with the addition of EA Sports UFC 5 and Diablo, available to play starting today. These two titles, released nearly 27 years apart, mark the conclusion of Wave 1's January 2025 additions to the service.
Diablo, a seminal hack-and-slash RPG, needs no introduction. UFC 5, the latest installment in EA Sports' MMA franchise, launched in October 2023. Their inclusion showcases the diverse range of titles offered by Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. While Diablo is PC-exclusive, UFC 5 is available on Xbox Series X/S, and also playable via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Activision Blizzard Games on Xbox Game Pass
With Diablo's arrival, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate now boasts over a dozen Activision Blizzard titles, including the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot trilogies (counted as three games each). This represents a consistent addition rate of nearly one Activision Blizzard title per month since Microsoft's acquisition. While many more are anticipated, the release pace is clearly accelerating.

EA Sports UFC 5 and Diablo conclude January 2025's Wave 1. Wave 2's announcement is expected soon, potentially on January 21st, aligning with Microsoft's usual Tuesday release announcements.
Further announcements are anticipated before the January 23rd Xbox Developer Direct, which will showcase Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, South of Midnight, and Doom: The Dark Ages—all confirmed as day-one Xbox Game Pass Ultimate titles slated for 2025. Note that six games will leave the service on January 15th, including Insurgency: Sandstorm and Those Who Remain.
