Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.5 Leak Hints at Fall Guys-Style Platformer Event
A recent leak suggests Zenless Zone Zero's Version 1.5 update will include a temporary event featuring a multiplayer platformer game mode, reminiscent of Fall Guys. This exciting addition is expected to arrive alongside the launch of new characters Astra Yao and Evelyn, slated for late January.
Version 1.4, released in December, introduced two new playable characters and an S-Rank Bangboo, along with two permanent battle-focused modes. However, the game's history of incorporating temporary, event-specific game modes with unique gameplay mechanics continues. The current "Bangboo vs Ethereal" event, for instance, showcases a tower defense mode.
The leak, originating from community leaker Palito, details a multiplayer platformer mode integrated into a "Grand Marcel" event. Screenshots reveal stages strongly resembling those found in Fall Guys. While the event's duration is expected to be limited, it's anticipated to offer valuable rewards, including Polychromes and potentially additional free pulls, as previously rumored for Version 1.5. It remains unclear whether players will control their regular characters or Bangboo within this mode.
This isn't HoYoverse's first foray into platformer events. Honkai Impact 3rd's 2022 "Midnight Chronicle" event, part of the 6.1 update, featured similar Fall Guys-inspired stages, utilizing chibi versions of existing characters. This precedent suggests a similar approach might be taken for Zenless Zone Zero, potentially using chibi versions of the existing cast or even the popular Bangboo.
Version 1.5, anticipated for January 22nd, will also introduce Astra Yao and Evelyn to the playable roster. Previous leaks indicate the arrival of Nicole's first character skin and a potential Agent Story for Ellen. The addition of a platformer event further enhances the anticipation surrounding this significant update.
