OKEY is a streamlined version of traditional Rummy. It does not track long-term scores. This format resembles casino games like poker or blackjack, where each round is independent and the winner collects the pot.
The objective is to be the first player to form a complete hand of sets (equal numbered tiles) and runs (consecutive tiles of the same color) by drawing and discarding tiles.
To win a game, all 14 of your tiles must be arranged in valid runs or groups. Once no tile remains ungrouped, you place your 15th tile in the center of the table to claim victory.
This game is completely free to play. However, players seeking higher stakes can purchase additional chips from the in-game store.
The rules and gameplay are very simple:
- You begin with 15 tiles. You arrange your 14 tiles into serial runs or matching pairs. After organizing your 14 tiles, you place your final tile in the center to finish.
- Example of valid serial runs: "1-2-3-..." (same color), "11-12-13-1" (same color), "5-5-5" (different colors), "7-7-7-7" (different colors) etc.
- Example of invalid serial runs: "1-2", "12-13-1-2", "4-5-6"(different colors), "9-9-9" (same color) etc.
- Example of matching pairs: "1-1", "2-2", "13-13" (same number and color) etc.
- Indicator Tile: The face-up tile revealed in the center of the table.
- Joker Tile: A tile with a value one greater than the indicator tile and of the same color.
- Okey Tile: This tile has a value one greater than the indicator tile and shares its color. It can substitute for any other tile.
