Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin’s latest title, Hinuka Junreitan, is headed to mobile and PC. TOHO Games, Edelweiss, and G2 Studios have officially unveiled Sakuna: Hinuka Junreitan. It will be a free-to-play spin-off available on Android, iOS, and Steam.
First hinted at in November 2024, the game has now launched its official website and X account, signaling that developers will begin sharing updates and future announcements more frequently—and hopefully reveal a release date soon.
The iconic rice-farming and action mechanics of Sakuna are coming to mobile soon

Originally released in 2020 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin blends platform-based combat with meticulously detailed rice cultivation, crafting a unique fusion of farming simulation and action RPG.
Its rich folklore, intense combat, and immersive farming mechanics quickly won over players. The game later inspired an anime adaptation, a manga series, and the spin-off Sakuna Chronicles: Kokorowa and the Gears of Creation—a separate project still in development by Edelweiss and Marvelous.
Hinuka Junreitan will feature a mobile-optimized structure, introducing item-based microtransactions and live-service elements. Narratively, it will expand the Sakuna universe into a more continuous, ever-evolving experience.
As for the story, the original game follows Sakuna, an exiled goddess of agriculture, who balances tending her rice paddies with wielding a magical scarf to battle foes and navigate platforms.
In that game, your character’s growth is directly linked to the quality of rice you harvest. It will be fascinating to see what new mechanics and features Sakuna brings to its upcoming mobile version.
