Merchandise Voting Open Until March 21, 2025
In celebration of its 20th anniversary this December 2025, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has launched an exciting fan voting initiative. Players can vote to transform their favorite in-game items into real-world merchandise from a selection of 100 iconic series elements.
The extensive voting options include distinctive items like lingerie, incense sets, mahjong tiles, karaoke microphones, premium lighters, commemorative sake bottles, themed pillows, and Kiryu's legendary dragon mask - all reflecting the franchise's rich legacy. According to RGG's official voting site, the top-voted item will be guaranteed commercial production within two years.
The voting period runs from February 8 through March 21, 2025, with participants allowed one vote per day. Following the voting closure, a follow-up design survey will determine the final product aesthetics.
Potential Game Remakes Expected for Anniversary
RGG Studio first hinted at their 20th anniversary plans during their 19th anniversary celebration on December 8, 2024. Series director Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed appreciation for the continued fan support in a special video message.
The anniversary celebration kicks off with the February 20, 2025 release of Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Yokoyama confirmed additional anniversary events and announcements would follow throughout the year alongside the ongoing merchandise voting project.
