Hazelight's beloved cooperative adventure game, *Split Fiction*, has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling nearly four million copies. Publisher EA highlighted this achievement in their latest financial results, describing the game's launch as "hugely successful" and crediting it for contributing to a "strong finish" to their 2025 financial year.
"4 MILLION SOLD!!!!" Hazelight proudly announced on social media. "So many of you have picked up Split Fiction already, it’s amazing… Seeing the fun you have with our game and the love you show for Mio, Zoe, and each other warms our hearts here at Hazelight. And so many hot dogs made… "
*Split Fiction* immerses players in the diverse worlds crafted by two fiction writers through a groundbreaking co-op experience that allows two players to enjoy the game even if only one owns it. Launched in March, the game quickly became another hit for Hazelight and its designer, Josef Fares, selling over 2 million copies in just a week. Furthermore, *Split Fiction* is set to be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2 as Hazelight continues to develop its next project.
Adding to its success, a movie adaptation of *Split Fiction* is in development by Story Kitchen, the studio behind the Sonic films. They are currently assembling a team of writers, a director, and the cast, which will include Sydney Sweeney.
In our IGN Split Fiction review, we described the game as "an expertly crafted and absorbing co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another." It was praised as "a rollercoaster of gameplay ideas and styles that are usually discarded as quickly as they’re introduced. This keeps it fabulously fresh for its full, 14-hour duration."
