Join crowd-sourcing events to collect sea level rise data.
The Sea Level Rise app enables anyone to document flooding in their local area, helping to track the impacts of sea level rise and other flood events.
While nearly everyone in low-lying coastal regions is or will be impacted by sea level rise, we began our work in Hampton Roads, Virginia. We've gained valuable insights from the mapping efforts of thousands of volunteers during annual "Catch the King Tide" events. Created by Wetlands Watch, this app helps build a more informed and connected community, empowering us to stay ahead of rising seas.
Explore user-contributed information on this global phenomenon and volunteer to collect the street-level data essential for understanding and addressing its challenges. With the app, you can:
• Participate in crowd-sourcing events to gather the localized data that researchers and civic leaders need but currently lack
• Locate and report nearby "trouble spots" where high water disrupts travel during storms or bad weather
• Take and share photos to document events in your community
• Access dedicated collaboration spaces, called regions, to manage volunteers and schedule mapping events
