The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay, specifically highlighting the need for significant improvements to combat and monster hunting. He stated, "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."
Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the enhanced power and intensity of monster fights, focusing on improved choreography and emotional impact.
Expect a substantial combat overhaul in The Witcher 4. CD Projekt Red recognizes the shortcomings of past Witcher games' combat and is committed to addressing them, improvements that will likely carry over into future installments featuring Ciri as the protagonist of a new trilogy.
Interestingly, developers also plan to include Triss's wedding. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest was originally intended for Novigrad. The storyline depicts Triss's affection for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage. Geralt assists by ridding the canals of monsters, procuring alcohol, and selecting a wedding gift.
