A recently uncovered bug in Marvel Rivals is causing a significant disadvantage for players with less powerful computers. Lower FPS (frames per second) directly impacts several heroes, resulting in reduced movement speed and damage output. This effectively creates a pay-to-win scenario, where players are forced to upgrade their PC hardware rather than simply purchasing in-game items.
This is undeniably a bug, not an intended game mechanic. However, a swift fix is unlikely due to the complexity of the issue. The root problem stems from the Delta Time parameter, a crucial element in game design that ensures consistent gameplay regardless of frame rate. Resolving this will require considerable developer time and effort.
Currently, the following heroes are known to be affected:
- Doctor Strange
- Wolverine
- Venom
- Magik
- Star-Lord
These characters exhibit slower movement, reduced jump height, and decreased damage. It's possible other heroes are also impacted. Until a patch is released, players are advised to optimize their in-game settings to improve FPS, potentially at the cost of visual fidelity.
