Stellar Blade's director and producer, Kim Hyung Tae, has expressed his full support for mods and is reportedly eager to try them himself.
Based on multiple reports, Kim was questioned about his views on modding during a recent press conference in Yeouido, South Korea. "Firstly, I completely support players using mods. In fact, I'm personally looking forward to trying some of the more interesting creations," he stated.
"I'm excited to see many players develop their own mods and engage in a friendly competition to see whose work is most compelling. I also hope more players will participate in the modding community."
This sentiment is timely, as the full game isn't yet available on PC, yet dozens of mods are already listed on Nexus for the PC demo. These range from new character skins and visual reshades to VR support and even cosmetic nail polish. Additionally, several mods are kept private and categorized as 'adult' content. We'll leave it at that.
IGN's Stellar Blade review scored the game a 7/10. Our verdict noted: "Stellar Blade excels in the core aspects of action gameplay, but its weak characters, uninspired story, and some frustrating RPG mechanics hold it back from reaching the genre's highest echelons."
The PC version of Stellar Blade launches via Steam on June 11, bringing a suite of PC-specific features. These include AI upscaling via Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide display support, higher-resolution textures, and DualSense haptic feedback support. While the game was originally region-locked in over 100 countries, it is now available for pre-order on PC in "over 250 regions." And, for the record, while there is no official Stellar Blade multiplayer mod… traces of multiplayer elements have been found within the game's files.
