LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has announced ambitious plans for the company, emphasizing a significant expansion into the digital realm, particularly in the development of video games. This strategic move includes creating games both independently and in collaboration with other developers.
"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing." - Niels Christiansen
This expansion into gaming does not signal the end of LEGO's licensing agreements with third-party developers. Just last month, journalist Jason Schreier revealed that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new LEGO game, possibly linked to a Warner Bros. franchise.

Currently, LEGO's most notable gaming endeavor is its ongoing partnership with Epic Games. Last year, Fortnite introduced a LEGO-themed mode, which rapidly became one of the game's most beloved features. This collaboration showcases LEGO's ability to blend its iconic brand with popular digital platforms.
LEGO has also been a staple in the adventure game genre, thanks to TT Games' efforts over the last two decades. Although recent updates on new projects from the studio have been scarce, there are whispers of a forthcoming LEGO Harry Potter game, spurred by the commercial success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Further highlighting LEGO's versatility in the gaming industry, the company teamed up with 2K Games to launch LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game that hit the market last year. This move underscores LEGO's commitment to diversifying its gaming portfolio and engaging fans across various genres.
