Early Access Update Corrects Distressing Gameplay Issue
Developer Vows to Improve Content Review Procedures

As inZOI's Early Access period continues revealing game mechanics, players discovered an unsettling issue where vehicle collisions could affect child characters. A March 28 post on the inZOI subreddit titled "Unexpected Child Physics in inZOI" demonstrated how vehicle impacts would send child characters into exaggerated ragdoll states, sometimes with fatal consequences.
While developers had previously confirmed that character deaths could occur through various means, including vehicle accidents, they hadn't specified that children could be involved in these interactions. Krafton representatives clarified to Eurogamer that this was an unintended glitch, stating: "These unexpected interactions didn't align with our design intentions or the values we want inZOI to represent. We've immediately addressed this through patching and are enhancing our quality assurance processes to prevent similar oversights."
Creative Director Discusses Challenges of Hyper-Realism

Currently enjoying strong positive reception on Steam for its visual fidelity, inZOI's development team has acknowledged some creative limitations stemming from their ultra-realistic approach. Game Director Hyungjun Kim shared with PCGamesN: "The photorealistic direction required careful consideration about what gameplay elements we could realistically include. We occasionally wanted to implement more whimsical features, but they often conflicted with the game's grounded aesthetic."

While acknowledging inspiration from The Sims series' distinctive playful tone, Kim noted that translating similar lighthearted elements proved challenging within inZOI's visual framework. "Our commitment to realism creates different creative opportunities. We're confident players will appreciate the immersive experience we've crafted, even if it means some traditional life-sim humor manifests differently in our world," Kim explained.
While inZOI undoubtedly surpasses The Sims 4 in graphical detail, the development team continues refining the game's unique identity within the life simulation genre. For more insights on inZOI's Early Access performance, explore our comprehensive review below.
